Don’t be a victim of fashion crime… keep yourself in check, dawg.
The initial concept began in 2008, when UGAstyle launched a site where University of Georgia students could look to their peers for featured hit or misses in fashion. Coining the slogan “don’t be a victim of fashion crime – keep yourself in check, Dawg,” UGAstyle became the first indicator that, even when jaunting to class, daily dressing should entail a little more thought than pajama pants & a hoody sweatshirt.Keeping gentlemen looking dapper, & ladies looking dandy, UGAstyle is now excited to augment a new standard of “cool.”
Although our blog will still implement the same satirical fashion insight on street style that UGAstyle triumphs its reputation on, the website will act as an avenue of innovation, offering readers tips on style trends, highlighting boutiques with the best finds, showcasing the hottest spots to wine & dine, as well as divulging the land of art, music, & all things deemed nifty & noteworthy.
Our team is very excited to get things underway! UGAstyle will continue to highlight those who exemplify that undeniable “je ne sais quoi,” while bludgeoning the most heinous & unforgivable of fashion crimes. In that light, however, street style will no longer be the sole focus. UGAstyle is broadening its horizons & tying the strings between fashion & the culture that is style’s domain.
See someone around town you’re dying to get on the site? Snap a photo – don’t forget to grab a name, age, & hometown from the fashionistas – & send it our way!
