An inside source tells the UGAstyle team that Heidi Klum will allegedly be in attendance to the December 4th FDSA’s Fall 2009 show. See UGA’s own version project runway, as aspiring fashion designers show off their creations on the catwalk. Will the contestants “make it work?” Just in case Ms. Klum decides to stay the night at home with hubby Seal and the kids, you need to be there in order to be the true judge.
-Thanksgiving is a holiday that most attribute to family, friends & a melting pot of turkey, casseroles, yams & all foods deemed delicious! Little did you know, that the initial pilgrimage overseas would serve as more than a mere milestone in US History books & platter for Paula Dean to feast upon. The maidens of the Mayflower embarked on a journey that would one day lend an exalted purpose. Gaining divine aid from life in Plymouth Rock, Yves Saint Laurent graced catwalks with a look we are surely grateful for this Thanksgiving. The 80’s are back & shoulder pads are a force to be reckoned with, yet YSL captures a look not reminiscent of Madonna, but of a more pilgrim-esque sort. Above, artist Danny Roberts reproduces YSL’s colonial inspired design in his series of paintings covering Paris Fashion Week.
Wishing you all a delightful Thanksgiving holiday! Gobble Gobble to you and yours!
You’ve probably heard of the indie band Ok Go once upon a time… Their treadmill-choreographed music video for “Here it Goes Again” has been played over 48 million times on YouTube alone since its release in 2006. Well, the band of bandits are finally back with 2 new singles: “Shooting the Moon” from the Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack & “WTF” off their upcoming album, Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky, due out January 12, 2010.
Make sure to keep your ears open for “Shooting the Moon” while drooling over vampires & werewolves at a New Moon screening this Thanksgiving break. But for now, download the song for free here (right click & save.)

-Uggs and running shorts were the true reason behind the unification of the pilgrims and indians. They decided it was imperative to get together after a long journey on The Mayflower for a “roast” of sorts. The Pilgrims brought over the carbon copy and the Native Americans helped prepare the feast. This Thanksgiving you can be thankful at the expense of a fashion faux-pax. Gobble, gobble, gobble… the end.
-Shawty does not have them apple bottom jeans, and she just so happens to look like a jungle monkey all covered in fur.
-His name is El (20, from Atlanta, GA)- or the spanish translation: “THE.” Coincidence? Not likely… He is the THE bomb. He is THE man. Basically, he is El Fabuloso.
-R.Kelly and this little lady got trapped in the closet, and I’m afraid she failed to get her hip-hopera act together.
-Replicating America’s favorite nerd-next-door with a heart of gold is Catherine (18, from Decatur, GA). She has geek chic down pat, the sweet demeanor of a true Winslow, but I must ask the question: “Got any cheeeeese?”

-He didn’t do a good job, he did a GREAT JOB! getting dressed this morning! Chris (19, from Cumming, GA) looks for his pep-pep as an ode to an awesome show!… Tim and Eric.
-Dapper darling Lauren (22, from Lawrenceville) has a stylish finesse that is supremely adorable. Pairing zipper leggings with a vintage button-up & doll faced T, she rocks a seamlessly “dernier cri” frock.

If you are looking for something fun to do in “Athena” that brings out your inner nature nut, then we recommend you take a trek to the zoo. We decided to make it a Sunday Funday & immerse ourselves into the wildlife. On our excursion we spotted an array of goodies – bobcats, a bald eagle, owls, alligators, & much much more. The weather was nice, the sunshine was out & the woods were oh so splendid. We even met this soulful songbird (above). Her outfit is simple & sweet, just like the tunes she graced us with as we flirted with the black bears. A field trip to the zoo isn’t just for kiddies, it is a definite MUST!
Lions and tigers and bears OH MY!

Hop in your magic school bus and visit with Mother Nature:
- Hello Fortune 500! Kendall (22, from Atlanta) is the essence of a business bombshell. By mixing neutral tones & conservative lines with a zebra-esque print, she could conquer any boardroom meeting.
- Good morning Miss Bliss! Payne (22, from Augusta) has harmlessly mischievous style that is sure to slide by Mr. Belding. All he is missing is the enormous, gray Motorola Dynatac 8000X cellular phone that was popularized by Zack Morris on the 90’s sitcom, Saved by the Bell.
- Epitomizing the essence of flower power, Sophie (20, from Atlanta) rocks a darling floral print with leggings & moccasins. She graces November with a spark of spring & we aint got nothing but peace, love & happiness for her chic & laid back diggs.
-Alex (19, from Columbus, GA) reaches style that is significantly levels above average. This cutie patooty looks like a million bucks with superb thrift store finds. (Seychelles boots, vintage Coach satchel.)
-School boy prep + Stellar use of neutral colors = Evan (22, from Jacksonville, FL) who is eye-catching on a humdrum day. A truly easy look for any cool dude out there.
-Buckle up kids, its going to be a bumpy ride. The creature known as The Bump It has made it’s way to UGA. Legendary in it’s own humor- it is a device that plagues the minds of impressionable late-night infomercial watching girls.
-No fuss, no frills, Maria (20, from Conyers, GA) avoids fads for a solid style statement. She is the essence of a modern girl’s refined look.
-Seriously? Enough. This is clearly getting to the point of exhaustion that it has to be spite. Despite being fuggly, it’s to infinity and beyond played out.
-Hannah (20, from Columbus, GA) is a polished breath of fresh air. Take a hint from this little lady and transform an ordinary outfit by adding a tailored blazer for a soft and sophisticated look.
-This deserves to be the Wikipedia photo definition of juxtaposition. Our dear friend on the left is not exactly sporting the most flattering pair of shoes for her cankle syndrome and the girl on the right is filling space that doesn’t need to exist. (Note: Uggs are actually perfectly acceptable in this context, but a picture sure is worth a thousand words.)
-Jo (21, from Decatur, GA) gets straight to the point with making a men’s look effortless. A fun fact about this hunk is that he is actually colorblind- and he overcomes this obstacle like a pro by sticking with darks and playing with patterns. Fresh.
-Halloween was only a week ago, so I guess it’s perfectly acceptable to still be a Purple People Eater during the following week? Eeeek.
-Katherine (18, from Austin, TX) sure does makes school look cool. A beautiful girl-next-door style paired with a beautiful day in the heart of downtown Athens makes for a refreshing combo.
-Whether you glance at her from afar or you get up close and personal, Catrice’s (21, from Meridean, Mississippi) look is off the chain- she brings the right amount of attention by balancing heavy jewelry with far from gothic black.
-I guess John Belushi never died… this freshman started out in August 50 pounds lighter and goes to bed each night listening to Asher Roth.
-Camille (19, from Mt. Juliet, TN) is this year’s winner of the Nobel Prize of fashion experimentation- she mixes and matches spunk with fearlessness to make her look exemplary.
-The skinny on this pair of pants is that they do not fit properly ANYWHERE. My dear sir: your legs are suffocating and you don’t have enough of a caboose to properly fill these trousers. I beg you to seek a tailor and a clue.
-Stacia (19, a proud military brat) has got the blang-blang to make an otherwise simple look sparkle. Oh so flossy.
“I love the black and white. Two races of flavor living side by side in harmony. It’s a wonderful thing, isn’t it?” Lauren (20, from Greenville, SC) is the yin and yang of simple sophistication.
“This bird has flown, So I lit a fire, Isn’t it good Norwegian wood?” Katrina (18, from Atlanta, GA) keeps it cozy by combining fashion and function on a chilly day.
