deadbeat summer +MP3!
It’s an oven in Atlanta right now. So local ATL-iens know it’s hard to stay stylish while avoiding the heat and the things it may cause [ie. pit stains, back sweat]. Well take note from Sarah M., 22 from Denver CO and recent GaTech grad., she knows how to keep it cute while still keeping it cool. Purple light-weight shirt, white shorts paired with gold accessories are perfect for a day of shopping or a night on the town.

While you are riding around avoiding the heat, check out Neon Indian > Deadbeat Summer.

Back at the ABVatl opening, GaCityStyle peeped this adorable pair. Candice, 30 from Atlanta, and Alex, 21 from Florida, are a vision in blue and green. Candice is studied in the look of a chic parisian student and Alex has laid back into the east coast chill.
Her stripes, her socks, his watch, the art! Perfection.

ABV gallery opened last Friday & GaCityStyle was there in case you weren’t. The setting was perfect for the grand opening of this awesome gallery; 16 artists, the monthly Art Walk at Studioplex, & plenty of people dressed to impress.

THE PANELISTS is a group show featuring 16 artists who each created two eight foot comic book pages. Artists include Mark Mothersbaugh (best known as a founder of the New Wave band Devo), Mitch O’ Connell (whose work has appeared in Newsweek and the New York Times as well as advertising campaigns for McDonald’s and Coca-Cola), and Anthony Ausgang (who recently designed the cover of MGMT’s “Congratulations” record). Other artists include Niagara, The Pizz, Spain, Mats?!, Mark George, KRK RYDEN, Zoey Stevens, Luster Kaboom, Janelle Hessing, Rus Pope, Robin Footitt, Jon Haddock and Joshua Ellingson.
Beyond the comic book inspired art on the walls of this space were hip people out-and-about with the styles we crave. First up is a group of jean wearing girls who bring back the old classic in just the right way. We’ve got Randy T., 26 from Buckhead, bringing back the jean jacket, Necca P., from imagination USA, in a neon baseball tee and acid wash shorts, & Euice W., 23 from Kenya, whose got her own blog in the works.

Who wouldn’t want to roll with this posse of stylish chicks?

Joseph D. a freshmen tennis player for SCAD studying film and television is commonly known and referred to around the Atlanta campus as “Prince Tennis”. Although few of the other Scaddies have seen his skill on the courts, we sure have seen his style in the halls and we are more than impressed, finals must be easy when you got game like that!

Spotted at SCAD! Fashion Designer Zac Posen. Posen is very involved with SCAD fashion, he serves as a senior style lab mentor for the senior collection classes, he comes down to SCAD every 10 weeks to check in on the students and help with the progress of the senior collection When asked about his experince at SCAD he was more than thrilled to answer ”It has been amazing. I first went down there with Andre Leon Talley and it has become part of my life. Since I’ve started I’ve been completely committed to education and the arts through charity work and my own company. I love working with students. It is really important to give back.”
