American Apparel’s “Legalize Gay” t-shirts are striking controversy in Washington, D.C. The t-shirt in question is printed with the words “Legalize Gay.” The Los Angeles-based clothing company designed the shirt after the passage of Proposition 8 last year which stripped gay and lesbian couples of the right to marry in the state of California. The T-shirt was meant to be a sign of support for gay and lesbian employees and customers.
Kudos to American Apparel for standing its ground and refuses to remove the shirts from storefronts. So stay in fashion: keep an open mind.
